Attendance

Full attendance leads to the best educational outcomes for children. Non-attendance is extremely disruptive for children, leaving gaps in their learning and leading to a lack of confidence. Pupil tracking confirms that children who do not attend regularly do not make the same amount of progress in school as children who have good attendance. All school staff will work with families to ensure each pupil attends school regularly and punctually.

All absences are checked on a daily basis to ensure that children are safely in school. Cluster support from the cluster extended services manager is also available to support families in impro9ving their school attendance and someone from this team may be invited to attend any attendance meetings in school. Please read our attendance Policy carefully for the procedures that we must follow if your child's attendance falls below acceptable levels.

Punctuality

Pupils can come into school from 8:40 and the school day starts promptly at 8:45. If a child arrives after 9:00, they will be marked as late. After 9:15, when registers close, they will be marked s an unauthorised absence.

Pupils arriving after 8:50 must enter through the main front door and report to the office to be signed in by an adult. Pupils leaving school for any reason must report to the office before they leave so that we can ensure that they are properly chaperoned and signed out.

registers are also taken when the children return to class after lunch. Unexplained absences will be investigated by the attendance manager.
